NORTHWOOD, NEW HAMPSHIRE

Roo: 3 year old neutered flowered male mix. Roo is full of personality and would sell his soul for affection. He is obedience and crate trained and loves to play. He is good with dogs and cats and enjoys plenty of exercise. Roo enjoys a good chase and can jump very high so he would be best with an invisible fence of some kind. He loves women and can take a little bit of time to warm up to a man; he would be a loyal pet and a protector of his home. He can be too exuberant for homes with young children or high traffic. He is waiting for just the right home! He comes current on all vaccinations and with an obedience lesson and follow-up, if needed.

Please email volunteer trainer Nancy Fantom or call 603-942-5988 for more details.

HINTON, WEST VIRGINIA

Mo: This beautiful boy is very playful and energetic. He’s also bright and eager to learn. He loves being outside and walks well on the leash. Mo likes people and is good with children and other dogs. He’s still a puppy at heart and sometimes forgets how big and strong he is, so he might need to be supervised around small children and cats. He would love to have someone continue teaching him tricks and commands.

Mo and a sibling were dumped on a back road as pups. Fending for themselves was too much for his sibling, but Mo survived and was taken in and cared for by one of our volunteers. He’s very grateful to his foster family, who also care for Duchess the Akita.

Please visit Animal Control Welfare Project or email rescue volunteer Anna Ziegler for more details.

NORTH, VIRGINIA

Waldo: my foster mom says I am the bestest boy ever. My foster mom keeps telling me I am not a pug, but living with 3 pug brothers and a sister pug, makes me think I am. I fit right in with them and am happy to share my bed and love them. I am a stately gentleman, and am potty trained, crate trained(although no one crates me)and love children of all sizes. My ears have been sewn shut due to severe ear infections that were never treated. Some say I can not hear, but my foster mom says I have selective hearing and can hear what I want to. I love to just wander in my fenced in yard sniffing and looking at everything. I really love to smell flowers and my foster mom says I sniff all the smell out of them and leave none for her. I tend to be shy of humans and first, but if you have a tender touch, I come right around. My foster mom likes to get my long nose and kiss and squeeze it because it is always cold and soft. I act annoyed at her but I really love it!. Shhhhh don’t tell her! If you think you are the right home for Waldo and have the patience to get to know me, fill out an application on this site today, and I promise, you will never find a more loyal and loving best friend.

Greta: Hi, I’m Greta! I am a camera-shy Shar Pei (& possibly Sheba Inu) mix. I have a blond horsehair coat, golden eyes, & docked tail. Ain’t I pretty?! My foster mom didn’t have much luck getting me to pose for my photo shoot…because I’m way more gorgeous in person! I was about to be euthanized at a shelter when a wonderful volunteer rescued me. I am a young girl, only about 2 ½ yrs old. I am up-to-date on all vaccinations, tested negative for heartworm, and already spayed. Housebroken, great with children, & other animals, too! I can’t talk really (and don’t bark either) so I haven’t been able to tell anyone much about my past. When I first came into foster care I was scared of grass (I don’t think I had ever seen that stuff before!). Sometimes when you call my name it frightens me—my foster family thinks I may have been abused at one time or another in my young life. But I am always very sweet & friendly with humans. After I get to know you, I’ll greet you VERY happily at the door because I love to please! If you have the patience & love to befriend me and make me a part of your family please submit an application today! I can’t wait to meet you.
